Once again, we are back with another news from the insides of Jolla and this time it’s an interview with one of their officials. We already had interviews with their former CEO Jussi Hurmola and current CEO Mike Dillon. So, who’s next on the list? This time, it’s Jolla’s strategy consultant and advisor Jukka Eklund who shared some his own stats and his role in Jolla to guys from tonistechblog. Here’s the sneak preview of the interview:
We were quite interested about his current role in Jolla and upon asking of his past record and his current status, Jukka said that he was a part of Nokia since 90’s and worked as a producer of Internet, media and mobile services. But then the ‘well-known’ MeeGo was suddenly abandoned and so were the involved employees. But Jukka was very interested in that project and one of the core members of it. Therefore, after Nokia, he continued his journey with Jolla. Though he hasn’t exact job title at Jolla, he is important part of it. You can consider him as a “Chief Storyteller”, he says, so for example he manages Jolla official Twitter page.
Jukka was a big fan of Nokia’s Maemo and MeeGo from the launch of Nokia 770 and became a part of the Nokia as one of the developers of the platform for future. But even after the closing of the project, Jukka decided not to dirt-off his entire work to the date as waste and joined in hands with other partners for a safe future of MeeGo, now known as Jolla.
Like everybody else, Jukka has been very excited over the entire journey of the Finnish start up. He stood there from the starting till the present day when Jolla is a well known name and one of the best emerging start ups. He is excited about the fact that they will soon be providing the SDK kit for their Sailfish OS and launching of the company’s first Smartphone.
Concluding the conversation, Jukka said that being a Finn, he is happy that a start up like Jolla has seeded from the roots of Finland. Though Jolla can’t be considered as a replacement of Nokia as it will be too early to say that, but it certainly proves to be a ray of hope for the future of Smartphones.
Jukka Eklund is an example of the enthusiasm within the Jolla start up. He is not an official but integral part of their community and well determined to his job. We guess this is the same path that Jolla officials need to follow over the next years and success will keep following them.
