The year 2013 has just begun and the tech giants are ready to battle out in the field for the next season. But there are obviously some anticipations regarding the newcomers who might rule the industry in upcoming time and the same is true for the three names emerging out as Firefox, Ubuntu and our very own, Jolla.
The recent news from Firefox is making headlines that they will be launching a Smartphone based on Firefox OS, though it will be a developer preview model. But the main focus will be if Firefox aims it for the mass community of the users or keeps it limited to the hackers’ community. The former one is a dream for every company but the latter one is a trademark for some Royale manufacturers only. Let’s see what Firefox aims to. Same is the case with Ubuntu though they are not using their own hardware. Ubuntu currently is a name popular among the tech worms and not used on every laptop maybe due to its complex user interface. But will they stick to the same pattern for the mobile OS as well? We will have to wait. On the other hand, Jolla has so far in every possible way tried to reach the mass community. They are using a MeeGo based OS which was recently launched and showed every sign for public use such as easy to use UI, multi-tasking, etc. Their first Smartphone is soon to be launched and it will be interesting to see if the final foot prints match the path followed till now.
Apart from these newcomers, the already established icons including Android, Apple and Windows Phone will be fighting for their share in the market. While no signs are seen in the near future for the downfall of Android or Apple, Windows Phone will obviously try to expand its branches. The current status is not in its favour but the graph may change anytime especially with a few big launches lined up this season.
We will have to wait and watch for the final verdict.
