Since the launch of Jolla’s Sailfish OS, all eyes are set on the release of Jolla’s first Smartphone device and with the New Year already in its second month; it was firmly believed that Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013 could be the platform for the launch of the device. But the official statement says that device will be launched before the summer. So, there’s still plenty of time and that’s why Jolla officials considered it wise enough to clear any doubts regarding the expectations by the fans and media. That’s why recently they made a post on their official Twitter account regarding their involvement in the upcoming MWC event. They have made it clear that though there will not be any device launch at the event, they will be presenting the Sailfish SDK and focusing on their partnerships of the on-going projects. Also, there will not be any official booth for Jolla at the event and those who want to meet them whether fans or partners may do so by contacting them via email.
Though it may seem that Jolla is facing some similar launch problems as Nokia and we agree that MWC could be a big platform for their device launch, we still feel that everything’s fine. First, they said for the launch before summer this year and there’s plenty of time still left. Second, they must keep the momentum going in the forward direction and doing so is not possible by wisely handling their current deals which are very worthy for a good start. Jolla has already made it clear that device is a separate thing but they will mostly be concentrating on developing their Sailfish OS which they will be distributing to other mobile phone manufacturers as well.
But we want to know what’s your take on this. So, do give us your feedback.
