Few days ago I received quite an inspiring message from our old friend Mr. Developer (@saildev), the anonymous Sailfish OS developer whom we had the interview with, and in that message we decided to make a poll for one of his many great ideas for Sailfish development.
As you might know he’s currently working on a few applications like Wine Cellar , Music library or a Finnish game called Yatzy and many other (yet) unknown apps.
So this time there was the idea of an Offline Navigation application since we still don’t know what kind of Maps App Sailfish OS uses as a native navigation application, and Saildev wanted to know the amount of interest on a Maps application.
I quote: “The main focus is that it can be used offline mode – if you have saved the route. So e.g. you want to go from A to B. You set it online. It can be saved when you’re able to view it offline so you may not need to use the mobile connection all the time. Once you set the route BOOM it can be viewed offline.”
Well I guess this is quite an Unlike way of experiencing a Maps application since it’s not going to reserve much storage for itself nor it is fully online.
Please take your time and vote on the poll below, Thanks.
[Note: The poll was on our website for a day or two. So it might contain a few pre-votes]
