As you would probably remember, there was a video recording sample came out the day after Jolla crew went to London and despite the decent *video* quality, the audio quallity was not as good as other recording devices.
Many including me, thought the microphone was blocked by hand. Well it wasn’t.
So I went out to test the situation and gather some material to post on the blog, and suddenly the perfect situation for a 1 minute short clip happened.
All I can say is I’m satisfied with the *video* recording quality but seriously the audio recording sounds like it’s in the old “.amr” format which is obviously not a match for a 1080P 30fps video.
Note: You may think the sound was loud while I was recording this, but you can have my word, it wasn’t that loud! It’s just that Jolla has to make the audio management work better.
Many of us are glad that Jolla gave us 1080P recording out of the box as many thought it’s only going to be a normal 720P just like it was on N9, but it looks like they haven’t got much time to work on the sound yet. I don’t blame them! They are a group of limited people and the fact that they delivered this is good enough. Plus they said updates are on their way and honestly they were quite fast with the first update which came out last evening.
Here is the video. Please watch in either 720 or 1080P.
Thanks for watching.
