Sailfish SDK have received yet another update from Jolla SDK team for this month.
Although it is a minor update but it’s worth it because it is an update first of all, secondly it improves the SDK’s Control Center experience with some performance improvements alongside.
Hello, another minor update to the SDK Build Engine was released today. The update concerns again only the SDK Control Center, which gets some performance improvements, layout changes and provides a "Check for updates now" button in the Updates page. You should see updates available for the Build Engine in the SDK Control Center Updates tab after your build engine has been running about 10 minutes. Please do not visit the Updates tab before the 10 minutes has passed, otherwise the updates will show up later. The 'Check for updates now' button was put there to avoid this wait period in the future. As always, if you have any questions, you can send email to this mailing list <mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org> or write it up on together.jolla.com and tag your issue with 'sdk'. Happy hacking, Jolla SDK Team.
The other news is the we have been informed from JollaSuomi that a new update for Sailfish OS will hit our phones very soon indeed (Hopefully this week). And it’s going to be named “Naamankajärvi” which is supposedly another lake in Finland since Järvi means lake and “Naamanka” is probably the name of the lake. It’s cool that they chose to name their updates after some lakes in Finland as there are gazillions of lakes there so they won’t run out of names easily 😀
Here’s a rough image of the update 184.108.40.206 Naamankajärvi that will hit us soon, though we’re not sure if the update that will come out is the same version as this:
New features in this update which are confirmed are:
- Landscape support for Browser, Keyboard and Gesture
- Android Icon for Android Apps in the Jolla Store
- Ability to disable quick call from call log When disabled, tapping on the call log entry will open the corresponding contact card.
- Slash character in the keyboard

Cool that we now will be able to see the Jolla apps separated from Android apps in the store.
Hope to see the update very soon indeed. Stay tuned people, there are some more cool stuff coming from us! 😉
