Quick post about the latest community hardware creation aside from the QWERTY OtherHalf which we covered a lot in a few posts as it progressed thanks to the creator ‘dirkvl ‘, this time we have the progress photo of the good old OLED screen OtherHalf which was being created because unfortunately for some, Jolla does not offer a full on Low Power Mode (LPM) for the screen as the screen is an IPS panel and if the LPM would meant to be there they had to change it to HPM as it would consume “High” power instead of low as a result of the full amount of pixels consuming energy in addition of a small hint of backlit to illuminate them. Thus we don’t have it, but we have the community instead!
The highly motivated and talented chap Kimmo Lindholm has started working on his idea since a while back when the phone came out and he has been continuing the work and making it more refined than ever. His first attempt is no where near as the last attempt (Although both are/were incomplete but you’ll see what I mean) and I can say, he really knows his way round these stuff!
Tonight = 2/17/2014 (As this post is scheduled for tomorrow which is now!) , Kimmo Lindholm has posted this on twitter :

And a few days back we had the sneak peek of the Tweetian notification system working with it!

Here are the previous attempts and you can easily see the differences:
Personally, I salute Kimmo Lindholm and I will definitely be one of his customers because this feature is just too cool to be on Jolla!
