Such an amazing community we have and it’s such a pleasure to write about good news again and again.
I have just been informed about our friend at AllboutN9 that the long awaited extended battery otherhlaf is finally making appearance by the eager and amazing community of ours. I know we are small in compare to other communities but look at the abilities and compare them size-wise and see how amazing this thing is getting. First we had the solar panel, then the OLED TOH then the amazing keyboard otherhalf and iProtoxy sensor otherhalf and a lot more, and now we are witnessing the long awaited “Extended battery” otherhalf which is apparently called “The PowerHalf” to rock the business world for the guys who have their phone running 24/7 without a second of being idle and have issues with the battery life.

Also we have got the original thread for it at Talk.maemo.org which you can find >>Here<< With this photo attached to it: (Courtesy of TMO)
And if you’re eager to see how does this early prototype looks like from the inside:

Plus some useful info:
The power switch cuts the power between those two boards so the setup works in these modes:
1. Charge the phone only from the Power Half
2. Charge the Power Half only
3. Charge both simultaneously
Not so much in my opinion, at this stage!
Costs for this setup were around 32-35 USD (23-25 EUR). Can be lowered by designing all-in-one board which has LiPo charger circuit + 1A 3,7 V -> 5 V boost converter.
(Other than the 3D Printed half)
– Copper tape
– a SPDT power switch or similar
