A few days back while I was super duper busy at work with a new project, Someone else was doing magic.
And by magic I mean porting Sailfish OS to his Android device, an HTC Desire HD.
Yes it’s not the newest and the best Android device out there but neither do we have the latest and greatest specs on our Jolla phone. The point is that Sailfish OS with all the power can run on older SoCs.
People who still ask about Sailfish OS on Nokia N9 should be aware that Sailfish OS is not at all optimized for Nokia N9’s hardware and it is more focused on Android based hardware which includes this HTC Desire HD. So my advice to you is to stick with Harmattan if you’re still using a Nokia N9 and enjoy the beauty of the one and only mass produced MeeGo Harmattan device.
Adam Pigg, a MeeGo developer has worked ans ported Sailfish OS on his Desire HD and posted a photo of it on Twitter 2 days ago on September 2nd.

We are unsure of how many of the components actually work on this device but we can see the screen which means the OS boots and the main things that should work, do work! 😉
Thanks to Adam for this awesome port and we hope to see more devices running Sailfish OS. Also, a video of this Desire HD would be nice just to inspect how smooth the OS work at this early stage of port.
