Big announcement for fans who have been waiting for a physical QWERTY Jolla keyboard. Dirk van Leersum (designer of various TheOtherHalfs including first TOH keyboard) posted on Twitter that his current project will be presented on Kickstarter.com within the next days. Kickstarter.com is a fantastic crowdfunding platform created to bring projects to life which are looking for a minimum funding goal.

With help of the community, Van Leersum has been working on the TOH keyboard for a while. An early version was presented at MWC ’14 in February and sold to a few interested Jolla users. The upcoming keyboard will be a huge improvement with custom keypad layouts by Andrew Zhilin, backlight and better TOH design.
According to a post on talk.maemo.org “TOHKBD” will be over €100, comes with a 3d-printed PLA casing and a wooden bottom. Backers of the project on Kickstarter will belong to the first ones to receive one.
Many Nokia N900/N950 owners have been waiting and hoping for such a keyboard which became a very rare appearance in the current smartphone world. It is again exciting to see what the community around Jolla is able to provide and we are excited to see this project being announced on Kickstarter.
We will keep you updated and in case you use Twitter, follow @dirkvanleersum to learn more about TOHKBD.
