Many of the people who buy Jolla phone are convinced that Sailfish OS is a secure OS that does not leak your data to any organization/person.
The same people who are so privacy concerned that are willing to fight against the data-selling-era that we’re living in, might as well be interested in taking it to the next level by having full control over their calls and messages and block them whenever they want.
You may wonder how’s that related to privacy minded people? Well, blocking anonymous messages and calls might be the very reason to attract them!
“UltimateTouch Softwares” is a company that is making this happen with a catch, since Jolla store does not support paid apps as of yet, which by the way, has been promised for the longest time but seems like they haven’t been able to tighten it inside their schedule yet. So UTS had no choice but to open a crowdfunding campaign just like Jolla did with their tablet and Funky OtherHalf did with their TOHKBD with one massive difference. Those two were hardware and this one is a software.
Who are these people?
Who are we?
Our startup was founded by two persons in early 2015 in Switzerland. Tarek Al-Atassi from Switzerland, graduated as an engineer in Communication System from SFIT(Swiss Federal Institude of Technologies or EPFL in French), specialized in mobile communication. Tarun Wadhwa is from India, an experienced developer holding a Master degree in Computer Science. This collaboration stems from a long friendship, work and knowledge sharing and alike interests in mobile communication softwares.

Although a promising software, but still, from my experience people pay more securely if there’s a hardware involved.
Still, these lads are looking for a $20K goal in 40 days and we’re here to support! More apps for Sailfish means better recognition among others. Maybe this is just a start from their development program! Who knows?
Till now, with no PR whatsoever (except I guess a few internal announcements) they have raised $224 which definitely is not enough at all.
If you care about privacy and if you want to have this rather useful call/SMS blocking app on your phone, give this campaign a try and help them out! Let’s bring more apps to Sailfish OS by some DIT!
As you can see in the screenshots and the video below, the app is running and the UI is apparently ready:
